What a good book. I tried to read it as slowly as I could, to make it last, savor every word. Johnny, I’ve always been glad you play the blues, blues music is the best. Your music has enriched my life and everytime I see you on stage it blows my mind!

Spent the weekend reading this book and just finished it. What a life. Glad it ends on a positive note.
On my 34th birthday a rich friend asked me what I wanted; to pay my freakin’ parking ticket fines in NYC ($900.00) or to see a Tribute to John Lee Hooker at Madison Square Garden, $90.00.
I chose a tribute to John Lee Hooker with Johnny Winter playing. I haven’t been the same since. It was the highlight of my life. I have never danced so hard and true. Awesome does not even describe it.
You almost made it to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver since then. You didn’t get across the border that night. I had tickets for me and my best friend. Please please please make it this time. I don’t have a ticket as they sold out before I even knew you were coming. *I have gone kinda hippy shit not reading much in the last few years. The media does not turn my crank anymore.*
I will either buy a scalpers ticket, sneak my way in like I did as a child, or … to see you in North Vancouver.

Just finished this book; it’s a great read. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and you’ve influenced my own guitar playing greatly. Besides being a guitar God, I was glad to learn you’re a good genuine person. My 15 year old son and I saw you at BB King’s here in NYC last month. Great show!! All the best!!
Johnny I hope you read this. Jeff Bates is still haunting the hills around Rio Vista. You played and sang at Arrowhead dance. Think it was Johnny be Good. Great stuff even then when you were 13??. We wrote a song for the Rio Vista dance. You played and I sang it. The song name was “I’ve got a girl” Went somthing like this I’ve got girl-she loves me so – I’ll never ever let her go. When she’s around me my heart all aglow – when she’s away my heart with her will stay. etc. etc. Wow typical 50’s do-wop. Hang in there old pal. I’m happy to see your still kicking ass. Smitty
I just completed reading the new book about Johnny and it was so interesting and so sorry that Johnny was taken advantaged of during his career. I have been a Johnny Winter fan since the early 70’s and still listen and see him once a year in North Carolina. I think the last sentence in the book said it all ” Johnny will be none as one of the best blues players in the world “…Keep going as long as you can Johnny we still enjoy every time your around the Charlotte NC area…
Just finished reading the book. I too tried to make it last at least all week. As advertised as honest as i’ve ever seen someone be the good the bad everything i wanted to know. So many answered questions.
I have no idea exactly how many times i’ve seen Johnny (New Orleans, K C, Kansas side as well as Mo., Denton,Tx.)but I have been a fan for 40 years. I was at the show in K C when he acidently walked of the edge of the stage as talked about in the book. In Denton I was given a picture of the band at the door while leaving he was right outside in his trailer and they said he was signing autographs so i got in line. When i got to the window they started to shut it. I freaked out the next thing i knew i blearted out OH JOHNNY you can’t let this happen I’ve been a fan since Be Careful With a fool. He smiled and motioned for the picture. The band members gave him what for but he signed it anyway. I felt like such an idiot at not being able to control myself but it was Johnny Winter and I actually met him. And he was and is a great guy.

This unique jumperoo is a good! We’ve got it all when your child , was initially five a long time old, although she or he was a touch too modest correctly, she meet included in the padded vehicle having rolled-up quilt being a booster-style seat and several great literature placed under her paws. Your puppy soon increased involved with it and then was basically running like a professional player. He’s now in search of many months classic but still prefers the following.
Tremendous book – Johnny has always been my favorite, and his story is truly remarkable
